Employment Law1The firm defended a lawsuit brought by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) alleging a “pattern or practice” of sexual harassment against a large management consulting firm. We obtained a landmark decision from the District Court Judge that revolutionizes how “class” sexual harassment cases are tried. The ruling allowed individualized proof for each “class” member – rejecting a long line of pro-EEOC cases that have held to the contrary. The ruling also found that the EEOC’s long-standing procedure of seeking a global punitive damage award is illegal. The ruling allowed our client to proceed with summary judgment on individual claims. A copy of the decision can be found here.
